Extended Access

Extended access is a term for additional appointments that are available within primary care to access GP's, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, these appointments are offered from an extended access hub giving patients access to core general medical services.  Appointments are pre-bookable only and there is no walk in facility.

Patients can book an appointment by contacting the surgery in the normal way.  If the surgery is closed, then the patients can call 111 and they will access their health needs and book an extended access appointment if this is the most appropriate way to assist with health needs.
